Being-Word (2000)

Floor intervention (18mx13,50m) in the patio of the "Ecole Hôtelière" (catering school ) of Aiguerande in Belleville near Lyon. An at random succession of culinary expressions, names of dishes and famous wines (to bone, coq au vin, Chateau Margaux...) are engraved in the glass floor which are scanned by a low computer driven light beam which enlightens successively different portions and allows the reading of the words. The artist has placed at the center a two century old olive tree imported from Spain.
