Corolla (temporary installation)

Jean-Bernard Métais, "Corolla" (temporary installation 2006/ 2007). City of Douai (France)

"Corolla" is made up of a hundred long, lightweight stalks that curve and cross over one another, creating visual vibrations. As visitors enter the installation, this sensation of vibration is accentuated according to their movements, connecting them individually to the piece. The work functions according to subtly sensate diurnal and nocturnal phases, in which the use of mist and light allows the piece to "breathe" and accentuates its transparency.
