Expo Dubaï 2020

This project, created for the World Expo in Dubai in 2020, is a conical construction approximately 70 meters in diameter and 12 meters high. It houses the two levels of the work in sand “Allotted Time and Landscape 3.” The work is autonomous with regards to the sand element, which flows naturally by gravity onto both levels. Through a technical process similar to the worm drive of an elevator dispersed sand is brought back up to the top. This allows the daily cycle of this giant work in sand to function in a closed circuit.
